APEX For Kids is coming soon to West Los Angeles!
Active Play Experience for Kids is a new kind of kid’s gym. Our mission is to introduce young kids ages 1 - 7 years of age to #fundamental movement skills through #active play. Providing a nurturing social environment to learn and practice basic athletic skills, improve #bodycontrol, #balance, #agility and #coordination.
Proficiency in these skills have been shown to #enhance_brain_function. Scientists now believe that to achieve the precision of the mature brain, stimulation in the form of movement and sensory experiences during the early developing years is necessary. Studies show that children learning these skills at an early age often exhibit #higher_selfesteem, are more willing to take risks and are popular playmates in school (Henderson, May & Umney, 1989).
Classes and birthday parties provide an active play environment that parents and children can enjoy together. The APEX for Kids curriculum will introduce children to a variety of new, age appropriate challenges designed to encourage exploration, stimulate curiosity, and provide a safe place for children to try, practice, and develop a love for physical movement. As children grow so will their self confidence. Parents will be encouraged to take a step back and let their child preform independently whenever possible.
APEX for Kids strives to put every child in a position to succeed. Learning new skills may be scary and challenging for a young child, but with genuine care and encouragement each child will be able to advance at their own speed and celebrate individual accomplishments and personal bests along the way. These positive experiences and the feeling of success will build #self-confidence that will instill a #try_new_things and an #I_can_do_it attitude for a lifetime.
Owner Ed Sais, 45, has a life long love of everything athletic. From baseball to soccer, golf to skiing he's always up for the challenge of learning a new skill. Ed began working with children as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Monterey Park, CA pool when he was 15 years old. He continued child swim instruction while attending Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA.
After Pepperdine, Ed was the assistant to Jamie Riese, the owner of Santa Monica based Bright Child Children's Activity Center. Bright Child grew and he became Lead Teacher and Class Coordinator for the next 13 years. When Bright Child's Santa Monica location closed Ed went on to strengthen his business and management skills as Production Manager at Hologenix, LLC, a Santa Monica based Textile Company.
Now as a father of an 10 year old daughter and a 3 year old son, he is ready to combine his talent and passion for working with young children with his business skills to create a dynamic and fun learning environment. APEX for Kids will challenge kids to be the best the can be.
